Survival Plan for SXSW
When it comes to SXSW there a many different trains of thought that go behind how you plan on attending. In reality, there is only one that you need to have and that is: it plans you. When attending an event so large, with so many opportunities readily available and hundreds of thousands of people just like you, it is best to just go with it and see where it takes you.
I have had many people in the past ask me where I was going and what time I would be at a certain venue, I just simply tell them I do not know. The experience you gain by not having a plan is one of the freeing things that SXSW allows you to do. If you plan on going to certain venues at certain times you are bound to miss something or someone. Do not misconstrue these words. RSVP to every party and every event, get your name on every list you can, you are not guaranteed much and to that you are able to choose what you would like to do.
Ultimately, do not plan SXSW. Let it take you to your ending destination, be that backstage or with a press badge at the Spotify House. If you make a plan chances are you won’t get in or you will miss out on what all there is to offer. SXSW is an experience that you should let drive you, get lost in it and talk to everyone that you can.
